He’s Back! And the Holy Writ May Never Be the Same… Godzilla Delivers The Meatitudes!
And it came to pass that Godzilla, the fiery serpent of doom, stood upon the edge of the mountaintop; and looking out over the multitudes, he spake these words. “Blessed are the Humvees, for they shall make us rich. “Blessed is the Missile Defense System, for the pork in it will last a lifetime. “Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after MREs, for they shall eat, yet we shall dine. “Blessed are the B-1 Bombers, the Stealth Fighters, and the Bunker Busters Bombs, for they shall visit a rain of death upon our enemies. “Blessed are they who open the Artic Wildlife Refuge to oil expropriation, for they shall inherit the earth. “Blessed are they who fire missiles from helicopter gun ships on women and children in refugee camps, for they shall bring security to God’s holy kingdom. “And blessed are they who shoot first and ask questions later, for they shall kill more terrorists and make America safer. “Blessed are they who jeer at and denounce anti-war protestors as disloyal to their country, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are the corporate investors and directors of the Carlyle Group, of Halliburton, and General Dynamics, for they shall sustain our economy through weapons of war. “And Blessed are they who urge condemnation of prostitutes, gays, lesbians and pornographers, for they have read the Bible and are qualified to sit in judgment...” And when he had done with these sayings, Godzilla looked once more upon the multitudes. Then, turning his face up to the sky, he let forth a long and angry shriek like the wail of an air raid siren that for a long time resounded upon the hills. And from his lips came a blinding flash as the serpent’s 150,000 megavolt photometric death ray split the sky, followed by eerie darkness with the sun momentarily blotted out. And the earth was veiled in shadow. Then Godzilla said proudly— “I’ve won political capital and now I’m going to spend it…”
