Godzilla Defends Civilization Says “Marriage Is the Foundation of Morality”
Washington, D.C.- The mood was calm in the nation’s capital as the well-groomed Godzilla stepped to the microphone to make a statement for the press. Born at Bikini Atoll in the 1950s, the legendary lizard has taken a lifelong interest in nuclear power facilities, having once eaten a small experimental reactor at one gulp at Los Alamos. The brimstone motion picture idol then lit up the night sky outside Tokyo, sending shrieking masses into the streets where they ran for their lives. Having reformed his character and turned to politics since the 1950s, religious leaders from thirteen states now assembled to hear the chief executive’s words. Reverend Flimmy Braggert, national director of the American Christian Council for the Purification of Culture spoke on the decline of morals resulting from gay marriage, drugs and sex in the motion picture industry. “We’re concerned that the gay agenda will have an impact on our schools and neighborhoods,” said Braggert, who announced that warnings would be issued in fifteen states where high unemployment on Indian reservations led casino directors to seek special favors. As Godzilla strode to the microphone, a column of radioactive steam seemed to emanate from his nostrils. “Our shared concern for the state of our society,” said the movie icon, “has brought us together today.” “You see,” said Godzilla, “since the dawn of civilization marriage between a man and a woman has led to the growth and development of culture. Without morality there can be no culture. And without culture, there can be no morality. Therefore, it is vital to the interest of our nation for every man, woman and child to not only understand this fact, but to practice it as well.”
